Our Focus on Giving Back: Oxford Cares 2018

At Oxford, what we love most about our jobs is the ability to connect with people, whether we are connecting consultants with new opportunities or forging relationships between clients and the expertise they need to help their business thrive. Our focus on serving people doesn’t stop there. We strive to find ways to connect with the communities we serve, and the cities in which we live and work. Our Oxford Cares philanthropic program was created to do that on a regular basis. Our goal is that these efforts will help as many people as possible in the communities we call home.

Each year, our Oxford Cares philanthropic program makes a conscious effort to channel our activities in the fourth quarter and help those in need.

Our team members in each office work with local organizations to volunteer their time, collect items to donate, and raise funds. This past year, 212 volunteers across 20 offices rallied together to support more than 40 organizations in our communities. We are grateful to have been able to partner with so many groups to show that Oxford Cares.

Food Drives

During the holidays, when food is a central part of seasonal celebrations, it’s especially difficult for those who may be struggling to put a meal on the table. With that in mind, Oxford donated over 23,500 pounds of food and 18,100 meals.

Our teams across the country partnered with the following organizations to donate food to families in need and make a difference in their lives this past holiday season:

In addition, our Fort Worth, Beverly, Campbell, and Fremont teams orchestrated food drives to give back to shelters and other organizations in their local communities.

Toy Drives

To bring joy to those around us during the holiday season, we participated in several toy drives including:

Due to the generosity of our team members, over 441 toys were collected and distributed to children across the US.

Fundraising

Several Oxford locations organized fundraisers to benefit charitable causes.

One outstanding example from 2018: our Cork and Zug offices focused on fitness and fundraising through a cycling fundraiser, where team members rode the distance between the two offices on an exercise bike to raise money to benefit Marymount HospiceCork Penny Dinners, and The Rainbow Club.

Community Service

As an organization, we also recognize the value of contributing our time to community service efforts. Oxford participated in:

  • The Empty Bowl Project in Austin, TX, where our team crafted bowls at a local pottery, donated them to the foundation, and later volunteered their time to prepare and serve meals on site.
  • Pumpkin Fest in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, where proceeds benefit the Chasin’ A Dream Foundation, an organization that helps children battling serious illnesses.
  • Movember in Cork, Ireland, to raise awareness for men’s health.
  • Buddy Walk in Chandler, AZ, to promote Down Syndrome Awareness.

With over 560 volunteer hours during our Quarter of Caring, we could not be prouder of our team members.

Working Together

Our results serve as a powerful reminder of the impact that each individual and organization can make. Together, we can accomplish great things for our communities and we will continue to champion causes that support those in need.

Oxford has designated the fourth quarter as our annual Quarter of Caring as a way to support more local organizations, but we are continuing to explore and expand the ways that we can give back and make an impact throughout the year.

As Winston Churchill famously said, “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”
