Oxford Cares: 2020 Quarter of Caring
At Oxford, what we love most about our jobs is the ability to connect with people. We connect consultants with exciting new opportunities and forge relationships between our clients and the expertise they need to help their businesses thrive. Our focus on serving people doesn’t stop there. We expanded our efforts in 2017 with the creation of our philanthropic program, Oxford Cares.
It is an understatement to say 2020 was challenging. While our teams worked from home, they still helped charities by fundraising safely, volunteering their time collecting and donating items, and more. We’re so proud of our teams’ relentless focus on helping those in need for our fourth annual Quarter of Caring.
Food Drives & Packathon
We partnered with various organizations to donate food to families in need and make a difference in their lives this past holiday season. Team members helped prepare 300 food bags at Feeding Tampa Bay, pack 1,950 meals with Future Forward Haiti, and donated over 1,700 pounds of food to the United Food Bank.
Toy Drives
To help bring joy during the holiday season, our teams participated in Toys for Tots toy drives and helped gift over 1,000 toys to children across the US.
Walk For Good
Members of our Cork office participated in the Ireland Run in the Dark 5k run, a global community with the goal of fundraising to find a cure for paralysis. Although they did not get to participate together this year, the 18 runners still helped raise awareness while apart.
Our US offices supported their national philanthropic partner, American Cancer Society, by virtually walking for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer™. With 7 teams and 46 participants, we raised a total of $17,618 to help find a cure.
Fundraising & Community Service
As an organization, we also recognize the value of contributing our time to community service efforts, in addition to fundraising. Our employees participated in fundraisers and community service activities for various charities, including raising funds for Multiple Sclerosis Ireland, and providing Thanksgiving dinners to Jupiter Elks Lodge for families in need, and giving items to Alliance for Children.
Working Together
The results serve as an encouraging reminder of the impact that each individual and organization can make, even during a particularly difficult year. Together, we can accomplish great things for our communities and we will continue to champion causes that support those in need.
As said by Minor Myers Jr., "Go into the world and do well. But more importantly, go into the world and do good.”
